AI Email Drafting and Refinement

ISO Mate includes an AI-powered email assistant that helps you compose emails faster. Generate complete drafts from brief notes or refine content you have already written.

Opening the AI Panel

  1. Open the email compose view (new email, reply, or forward).
  2. Click the AI Assistant button in the action bar at the bottom of the compose window. The button has a subtle pulse animation to draw your attention.
  3. The AI panel slides open on the right side with two tabs: Draft and Refine.

Generating a Draft

  1. Select the Draft tab.
  2. Enter your key points, ideas, or notes in the text area. These do not need to be polished sentences.
  3. Choose a tone: Professional, Friendly, Formal, or Concise.
  4. Optionally enable Include email thread to give the AI context from the conversation you are replying to.
  5. Click Generate Draft. The AI streams the generated content token by token in the preview area below.

Refining Existing Content

  1. Write or paste your email content in the compose editor first.
  2. Open the AI panel and select the Refine tab.
  3. Choose a quick action: Shorter, Longer, Formal, Friendly, or Fix Grammar. Or enter a custom instruction describing how you want the email changed.
  4. Click Refine. The refined version streams in the preview area.

Applying Generated Content

After the AI finishes generating, you have two options:

  • Insert at Cursor: Inserts the generated text at your current cursor position in the editor, preserving any existing content.
  • Replace Content: Replaces the entire editor content with the generated text.

Collapsible Input Sections

When you click Generate or Refine, the input form automatically collapses into a compact summary bar, giving more space to the generated content preview. Click the summary bar to expand the form again if you need to adjust settings or regenerate. You can also manually collapse the form using the collapse button.

Tips

  • Provide detailed notes for better draft quality. The more context you give, the more relevant the output.
  • Use the thread context option when replying so the AI understands the conversation.
  • Combine quick actions: generate a draft first, then refine it to be shorter or more formal.
  • Clear the preview with the Clear button to start fresh.
