Compliance Audit Logs

ISO Mate records a compliance audit log automatically every time a framework, requirement, policy, procedure, control, evidence item, attestation, or user group changes. You review the trail under Compliance > Audit Logs, filter it by entity type, action, or date, expand a row to see exactly what changed, and export the result to CSV or PDF for an external auditor. Logs are read-only and scoped to your active account, so they stand as a reliable record.

View the audit trail

  1. Go to Compliance > Audit Logs in the sidebar.
  2. Read the table, which lists each logged activity with these columns:
    • Timestamp: when the activity happened.
    • User: the person who performed the action, or System for automated changes.
    • Action: the type of change, such as Created, Updated, or Published.
    • Entity Type: the kind of record affected.
    • Entity: the specific record name.
    • Details: an expand control that reveals the change, when one is recorded.

What gets logged

The trail covers the full set of compliance actions, not just create and delete. Recorded actions include Created, Updated, Deleted, Published, Archived, Cloned, Mapped, Unmapped, Signed, Assigned, Linked Procedures, Unlinked Procedure, Reactivated, and Scaffolded. Entity types include framework, requirement, policy, procedure, control, evidence, attestation, and user group, so activity from Managing Policies and Attestations and Managing Procedures lands in the same trail.

Filter the logs

Use the search bar above the table to narrow the trail. You can add tokens for Entity Type and Action (each with an “is” or “is not” operator), set a From Date and To Date range, and type free text to search. Sort by Timestamp, Action, or Entity Type to bring the entries you need to the top.

Inspect what changed

When an entry records a change, click the expand control in the Details column to open a Before and After comparison. Each side lists the field values, and the fields that actually changed are highlighted, so you can see precisely what was modified without leaving the page.

Export for auditors

  1. Apply any filters you want to include, since the export uses the same filters as the on-screen list.
  2. Open the Export menu at the top right.
  3. Choose CSV for a spreadsheet or PDF for a formatted report. The file downloads to your device.

Permission requirements

  • The View compliance audit logs permission is required to open the audit trail.
  • The Export compliance audit logs permission is required to see and use the Export menu.
  • Both permissions sit in the Compliance Audit category, assignable from role management under Compliance and Security.
