Creating Records with AI

Create with AI Overview

Create with AI lets you build records by describing what you want in plain language. The assistant gathers any missing required details by asking follow-up questions, then shows a confirmation card with exactly what will be created. Nothing is saved until you confirm.

Two Ways to Start

There are two entry points, and both lead to the same confirm-before-save flow.

  • The Create tab: Open the AI Assistant panel from the top navigation bar and switch to the Create tab. From here you can create any supported record, and the assistant works out the record type from your description.
  • Create with AI on a feature: On a feature list page, open the menu attached to the primary create button and choose Create with AI. The dialog opens already targeted to that feature, so you can describe the record without saying what type it is.

Creating a Record

  1. Open the Create tab, or choose Create with AI from a feature create button.
  2. Describe what you want in plain language, for example “a high priority task to review the vendor contract due next Friday”.
  3. Answer any follow-up questions. The assistant only asks for required fields it still needs and validates your answers against the same rules as the manual form.
  4. Review the confirmation card. It lists each record and each link in readable form.
  5. Send a follow-up prompt to adjust anything, or confirm to create the record.

Each refinement replaces the previous preview, so you never confirm a stale version. Closing the dialog or starting a new conversation before confirming discards the draft, so nothing is stored.

What You Can Create

Create with AI spans the platform, including tasks and recurring tasks, notes, contacts, calendar events, help desk tickets and canned responses, DevOps issues and issue templates, QA test cases, test cycles, test executions, user stories, features, and test environments, incidents, sales leads, opportunities, and deals, compliance frameworks, requirements, controls, policies, and procedures, custom object types and entries, diagrams, and workflow automations.

Sales activities cannot be created here. They are recorded automatically by the system as timeline events, so there is no manual create path to mirror.

How the Assistant Stays Accurate

  • Real people: When you name an assignee, owner, or agent, the assistant looks the person up among your account users and links the real record. Only account users are offered for those roles, and a name it cannot find is caught before the confirmation card appears.
  • Relative dates: Phrases like tomorrow, next Friday, or due in two weeks are resolved in your timezone, so you do not need to convert them to a calendar date.
  • Reuse before create: For linked records, such as a policy that belongs to a framework, the assistant looks for an existing record to reuse and only proposes a new parent when none fits.

Diagrams, Workflows, and Custom Objects

Some features generate richer structures. A diagram produces a full canvas of shapes and connectors with a visual preview, a workflow produces a complete trigger and action tree grounded in your real entities and limited to your plan, and a custom object produces a full schema or a valid entry for an existing object type. Each previews exactly as it will appear before you confirm.

Safety and Permissions

  • Every record is scoped to your active account on the server, and the assistant never sets the account.
  • Record identifiers are assigned by the backend, and links to existing records are re-verified against your account and your view permission before saving.
  • The assistant can create records but cannot update or delete them.
  • Each created record is written in a single transaction and recorded in the audit log.
  • Create with AI appears only when the feature is enabled for your account and you hold the matching create permission. When it is unavailable, the control falls back to a plain manual create button.

Review Before You Rely on It

A reminder beneath the prompt box notes that AI can make mistakes, so review anything it creates before you confirm and use it. The reminder appears in both the per-feature dialog and the Create tab.

Tips for Better Results

  • Include the key details: Mention priority, due date, assignee, or status in your description to reduce follow-up questions.
  • Use the feature entry point: Starting from a feature create button targets the right record type immediately.
  • Refine in small steps: Adjust one thing at a time, then confirm once the preview matches what you want.
