Creating and Managing Tasks

Tasks in ISO Mate let you capture work items with a title, description, due date, priority, status, and assignee, then track each one from pending through to completed. You reach them from the Tasks item in the sidebar General group, where the Create button opens the task form. Recurring schedules, bulk actions, filtering, and CSV or PDF export are all built in.

Creating a task

  1. Open Tasks from the sidebar General group.
  2. Click Create to open the task form. When AI creation is enabled, the caret next to the button reveals a Create with AI option that drafts a task from your description.
  3. Enter a Title (required) and an optional Description.
  4. Pick a Due date with the date picker, choose a Priority (Low, Medium, High, or Urgent), and set the Status (Pending, In progress, Completed, or Cancelled).
  5. Assign a team member with the assignee selector, and optionally link the task to an incident.
  6. Click Save.

Completing and updating tasks

Toggle the checkbox next to a task to mark it complete, and the completion is recorded automatically. You can also change the status or priority directly from the list, or open a task to edit any field.

Recurring tasks

To create a repeating task, turn on the recurring option in the task form before you save. ISO Mate then generates task instances automatically on the schedule you define.

Setting the recurrence

  • Pattern: Daily, Weekly, Monthly, or Yearly.
  • Interval: repeat every N days, weeks, months, or years.
  • Days of week: for weekly patterns, choose the days it should fall on.
  • Day of month: for monthly patterns, set the day it recurs.
  • Start date plus an optional End date or occurrence count to bound the series.

A preview lists the next generated dates so you can confirm the schedule before saving.

Managing a recurring task

Edit the recurring template to adjust future generated tasks, and choose whether to regenerate the upcoming instances. Deleting the template stops new tasks from being generated while leaving tasks that already exist in place.

Filtering, bulk actions, and export

  • Filter: narrow the list by status, priority, assignee, created by, or overdue, and search by title or description.
  • Bulk actions: select multiple tasks with the checkboxes to update status, reassign, or delete them together.
  • Export: use the Export dropdown to download CSV or PDF, and the export respects your current filters. The CSV names both the assignee and the person who created each task.

Assignee and created by are easy to confuse but answer different questions. The assignee is who the work is for, while created by is who added the task, so filtering by created by is the way to find everything one person raised. Choose System to find tasks generated by a recurring schedule, a compliance procedure, or a workflow rather than added by a person. Tasks created before ISO Mate began recording this also show System.
