Linking Records to Sales Activities

Linking Records to Sales Activities

ISO Mate lets you connect tasks, calendar events, notes, and emails to any lead, opportunity, or deal. This creates a unified view of all interactions and follow-up actions associated with a sales record.

Linking Tasks

  1. Open a lead, opportunity, or deal detail page.
  2. Scroll to the Tasks section.
  3. Click the + button.
  4. Search for an existing task or create a new one directly from the dialog.
  5. The task is linked to the sales record and appears in the activity timeline.

Use linked tasks for follow-up actions such as “Send proposal by Friday” or “Schedule technical review.” Task status updates are visible from the sales record detail page.

Linking Calendar Events

  1. Open a lead, opportunity, or deal detail page.
  2. Scroll to the Calendar Events section.
  3. Click the + button.
  4. Search for an existing calendar event or create a new one.
  5. The event is linked and logged in the activity timeline.

Link calendar events for meetings, demos, discovery calls, or any scheduled interaction related to the sales record.

Linking Notes

  1. Open a lead, opportunity, or deal detail page.
  2. Scroll to the Notes section.
  3. Click the + button.
  4. Search for an existing note or create a new one.
  5. The note is linked and logged in the activity timeline.

Use linked notes to document meeting summaries, key decisions, competitive intelligence, or any information relevant to the sales process.

Linking Emails

  1. Open a lead, opportunity, or deal detail page.
  2. Scroll to the Emails section.
  3. Click the + button.
  4. Search for an existing email from your connected mailboxes.
  5. The email is linked and logged in the activity timeline.

Linking emails maintains a complete communication history. Anyone reviewing the sales record can see the full thread of correspondence without switching to the email module.

Unlinking Records

To remove a linked record, click the unlink icon next to the item in the relevant section. This removes the association but does not delete the original task, event, note, or email.

Activity Timeline

Every link and unlink action is automatically logged in the sales record’s activity timeline with the user who performed the action and a timestamp. The timeline tracks the following activity types:

  • Stage Change: When the record moves to a different pipeline stage
  • Assignment Change: When the record is reassigned to a different team member
  • Note Linked: When a note is attached to the record
  • Task Created: When a task is linked to the record
  • Calendar Event Created: When a calendar event is linked
  • Email Linked: When an email is attached
  • Contact Linked: When a contact is associated with a role
  • Deal Product Added/Removed: When products are added to or removed from a deal
  • Lead Converted: When a lead is converted to an opportunity
  • Opportunity Converted: When an opportunity is converted to a deal

The timeline is displayed in reverse chronological order on the detail page, giving your team a complete history of every interaction and decision.
