Entries are the individual records you capture against a published custom object type, such as one asset, one vendor, or one contract. Open a type to see its entries in a table, then create, search, edit, bulk update, and export them. This guide covers the entries list and everything you can do from it.
Open a type’s entries
A custom object type only appears once it is published (see Building Custom Object Types). There are two ways to reach its entries:
- In the sidebar, open the Object Types section and click the type. This opens its entries list.
- Or open Settings then Object Builder, and on a row in the Object Types list use the view entries action.
Create an entry
- On the entries list, click Create. If Create with AI is enabled for your account, you can instead choose Create with AI from the split button and describe the entry in plain language.
- Fill in the form. Its tabs, columns, and fields come from the object type’s design, and required fields must be completed.
- Click Save to add the entry.
Find entries with search and filters
The search bar above the table combines free text search with filter tokens.
- Search: type to match entries by their content.
- Filter tokens: add a filter for any Select, Radio Button, Checkbox, or Toggle field defined on the type, and choose is or is not to include or exclude a value.
- Sort: order the list, for example by created date.
The table columns are the fields marked Show in List on the object type, plus the created date. If none are marked, the first few fields are shown.
View, edit, or delete an entry
Each row has actions at the end: view to open the full entry, edit to change its values, and delete to remove it. Deleting asks for confirmation first.
Update or delete many entries at once
Select entries using the checkboxes to reveal the bulk actions toolbar:
- Mass Update: set one or more fields to the same value across every selected entry.
- Delete Selected: remove all selected entries after confirmation.
- Clear Selection: deselect everything.
Export entries
Use Export CSV or Export PDF in the page header to download the entries. When a search or filter is active, the export contains only the matching entries, and the file name notes that it is filtered.
See reports for a type
Click Reports in the page header to open charts and summaries built from the entries of the current object type.
