AI Compliance Search lets you ask plain-English questions about your published policies and procedures and get an instant, written answer drawn directly from your own documents. Every answer cites the specific policies and procedures it drew from, so you can trust the response and open the source to read more.
Natural Language Over Your Own Documents
Instead of scrolling through dozens of documents, ask a question the way you would ask a colleague. For example:
- “What is our password rotation requirement?”
- “How long do we retain customer data after an account is closed?”
- “What is the procedure for reporting a data breach?”
- “Who is responsible for approving access to production systems?”
The assistant reads the relevant sections of your published policies and procedures and writes back a concise answer in seconds.
Answers With Citations
Every response lists the source documents it used, referenced by their actual policy or procedure name rather than an internal identifier. This makes it easy to verify the answer and jump straight to the full document when you need the complete context. If no published document matches your question, the assistant tells you so instead of guessing.
Filter by Document Type
Narrow your search to just policies or just procedures using the filter at the top of the assistant, or leave it on All to search across both. This is helpful when you know whether you are looking for a high-level policy statement or a step-by-step operational procedure.
Multi-Turn Conversations
Ask a follow-up and the assistant remembers what you were discussing, so you can drill into detail without repeating yourself. Start a new conversation at any time to reset the context.
Scoped to Your Account, Always
Search results are restricted exclusively to your own account through multiple layers of tenant isolation. Only published policies and procedures are searchable, so unpublished drafts never surface in answers. The assistant respects your role permissions, so users only ever query data they are allowed to see.
Real-Time Streaming
Answers stream in word by word, so you see the response forming immediately rather than waiting for the full reply to complete.
Permission and Feature Gating
AI Compliance Search is controlled by the Compliance AI: Search permission, assignable from role management under Compliance and Security. The AI feature must also be enabled for your account by an administrator.
Accessing AI Compliance Search
Open the chat panel from the top navigation bar and switch to the My Data tab. Choose the Policies or Procedures filter (or leave it on All), type your question, and the assistant responds with an answer and its sources.
